Google CEO Sundar Pichai Told That The Parent Company Will Slow Down The Hiring Process In Year 2020

Google CEO Sundar Pichai tells staffs that hiring process for 2020 will be slowed down due to the coronavirus pandemic. The CEO passed this vital information via email to all his employees however all the employees that have been employed but have not started working yet will still be taken in board. Google parent Alphabet Inc. began battering its advertising business several weeks ago. The CEO also said that the company will be cutting down cost and “recalibrating” the speed in investment like data and machines. The company has planned to hire 20,000 employees like it did in 2019 but has had to hire only 4,000 so far. In his address Pichai said “just like the 2008 financial crisis, the entire global economy is hurting”, also adding that Alphabet Inc. is not immune to the virus outbreak.

In his email the CEO said that “ we need to carefully prioritize hiring employees who will address our greatest user and business needs”. The company has given over $800 million to people affected by the coronavirus pandemic in form of loans, grants and credit. The company has been deeply affected by the pandemic because businesses have been cutting down on ads to save money. Google staffs have to work from home through out March because of the outbreak. The company has spent $23.5 billion on capital expenditure. According to CNBC the company started pulling back on skill training resources for the contractors and temporary workers that makes up about half of it work force.

Google also gave $2,500 in gifts to help communities fight the virus globally. The company have continued to help people in different ways. It has provided information that has been authoritative and accurate, kept families safe and kept “people’s hopes high” according to Pichai while also giving support to keep services running.
