The Union Home ministry allows exemption from lockdown to conduct class 10 and 12 board examinations, union home minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday.

Before this, Home ministry has already written to all state government informing them about the exemption is given for holding the examination across the country with certain conditions.

Amit Shah twitter, It has been deciding to grant an exemption to conduct board examination of std.10th and 12th with few conditions like social distancing, face mask etc for their safety.

The decision comes after board examinations were earlier postponed due to the nationwide lockdown imposed on march 25 to contain the spread of covid-19.

Moreover, the HRD ministry today said that the students will appear for pending class 10 and 12 board examinations in their own school instead of an external centre.

The ministry is also planning to declare board exams result by end of July and for that evaluation of the Answer sheets of the exams which were taken previously.

The evaluation has already begun by designation 3,000 evaluation centres from where the answer sheets would be distributed to teachers.

Apart from that, The CBSE on Monday announced the date sheet for pending class 10 and 12 board exams, which will be held by 1-15 July 2020.

The chief secretaries of states and union territories, union home secretary Ajay Bhalla said, ‘request was received from the state governments and CBSE for conducting board examinations and the matter have been examined in the home ministry.
