HRD Ministry says JEE and NEET dates will be announced on Tuesday

The dates of the competitive exams- JEE and NEET have been deferred until now due to the prevailing nationwide lockdown since March 24 to manage the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The government has decided to end this tumult of the students by declaring the dates of the exam soon.

“The fresh dates will be announced by HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on May 5. This will put an end to uncertainty for the aspirants. The minister will also interact with students online the same day,” a senior ministry official said.

Students take up Joint Entrance Exam- Mains (JEE- MAINS) for getting admitted in the engineering colleges all over the country while the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is for the medical aspirants.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development has also rescheduled the entrance exams of JNU, UGC, NET, and IGNOU PhD acknowledging the lockdown.

Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had also requested the National Testing Agency to delay the last date of submission of application forms for the different examination that also includes admission tests of JNU, UGC NET, IGNOU PhD, ICAR, NCHM- G and management courses. Even the target date has been out off until one month.
