I didn’t feel like living anymore: Deepika Padukone on fighting with depression.

The live love laugh, a non-governmental organization founded in 2015 in Bengaluru was started by Deepika Padukone, which aims at helping people who suffer from mental illnesses. The actress made an appearance in Kaun Banega Crorepati, Season 13 along with Farah Khan, during which she talked about her own journey battling depression back in 2014. She revealed how upon being diagnosed with depression she also realized how much of a stigma it was in society and how many other people were going through the same. Her one ambition in life was to save one life which would, in turn, fulfil her purpose in life.

Amitabh Bachchan then went on to ask how she discovered she was suffering from depression, to which she replied, ‘I used to get a very weird feeling like there was an emptiness inside me‘. She explained to the audience how she felt like her life had no purpose and how she never felt like doing anything which includes going to work or going out in general. Deepika then ended by disclosing how her mother was the one who thought something was up with her when she started crying at the airport when her parents were leaving from Bombay to Bengaluru, back home.
