Indian Government banned 47 more apps, and various other apps under scanner for user privacy violation.

After the banned of 56 Chinese apps by the Indian government because of the border tension at Ladakh, the centre is now set to ban another 47 apps of China. These apps were said to be operating as clones of the precious banned apps. The list of the 47 Chinese applications banned by the Indian government are to be released soon.
The Indian government press release statement were as follows, “The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.”
The Indian Ministry of IT has also formed a list of 250 Chinese apps, to be put under examination for any user privacy or national security violations. The list is said to also include the gaming app PUBG, Alibaba, Xiaomi, ByteDance and others. “The apps were found to be operating despite the ban via these versions. They have been taken down from application stores”, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology official reported.
