J&K administration extends the detention period of Mehbooba Mufti by three months

Jammu and Kashmir administration extended the detention of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti by three months under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) on Tuesday 5th May.

This order for the extension under PSA came a few hours before her present term under stringent law was about to expire. This order was handed over to Mufti at her residence where she has been detained by District Magistrate (DM) in Srinagar.

On 7th April, Mufti has been shifted to her home after eight months of detention at two government facilities. This facility has been designed as sub-jails.

Mehbooba Mufti was booked under PSA in February. Not only Mufti, but several other politicians of the valley including two former CMs Omar and Farooq Abdulla were also booked.

Farooq Abdulla booked last year, where Omar was booked in February. Both of them are released.
