18 months long wait is coming to an end on the 23rd of April, 2021, when the movie ‘Thalaivi’ will hit the theatres. It is directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Shailesh R. Singh and Vishnu Vardhan Induri. ‘Thalaivi’ is a biographical movie based on the life of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayaram Jayalalithaa who served six times from 1991 to 2016, till her death on the 5th of December.
Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing the role of the politician. In this regard, she shared the trailer of the movie on Instagram today.

She also shared the poster earlier today, declaring the release of the trailer.
The movie was originally set to be released on the 26th of June, 2020 in three languages, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. However, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and the resulting nationwide lockdown, the release was postponed and is now scheduled a month from today.
Surprisingly, the trailer release coincides with the actress’ birthday, as she turned 34 years old today.
