Today, we witnessed the filing of a criminal petition, suspending the popular Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter profile. The petition was filed by the High Court of Bombay. She was accused of disrespectfully mentioning the judiciary as ‘Pappu Sena’, in her Twitter post.
The plea was filed by Ali Kaashif Deshmukh, an advocate of the Bombay High Court. He has also accused the Bollywood actor of practising cruel intentions of creating a rift between two religious groups.
The report said the following words, “Every Indian Citizen has a right to freedom of speech and not freedom of ‘hate speech’ and there are restrictions imposed to the freedom of speech. Yet several people like Ranaut have been spreading hate, breaking the brotherhood, integrity of the country through their time and again provoking hate speeches disrupting the peace in the country.”
It is claimed that the popular actor has committed ‘criminal contempt of court’, for defaming the judiciary by calling it ‘Pappu Sena”. There has also been many more petitions and inquiry going on against Kangana and her sister Rangoli, for creation tension and rift between the Hindus and the Muslims, over Twitter. Such derogatory posting on social media does not help but creates tension and hampers the peace of a nation.
