Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a key review meeting to decide upon the Government’s lockdown strategy; as the lockdown 2.O is going to end on May 3. The meeting is scheduled to happen before the lockdown ends. This meeting is going to be attended by many ministers and top Government functionaries.

The people attending are Union Ministers Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman; CDS Bipin Rawat, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, and Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra.
As declared by the PM earlier, the decision on lifting of lockdown cannot be taken until the end of the lockdown 2.O, that is on May 3.

And, moving to India’s COVID-19 statistics, the way the nation has been dealing with it has been termed as far too good. The Center has said that India has ‘gone quite ahead’ in its fight against the novel Coronavirus.

India has reported 1,993 cases in a single day, the highest number for one day. With this, the total number of cases in the country has increased to 35,043; with 25,007 active cases, 8,888 cured, 1 migrated, and 1,147 deaths.

The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan declared that the recovery rate of the country has been 25%, with just 3.2% mortality rate, when compared to the global 7% mortality rate. Also, the PM would be addressing the nation regarding the decision on the lifting, or possible extension of lockdown, before May 3.
