The Centre has extended the nationwide lockdown for two more weeks until May 31. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has instructed the National Executive Committee, administered by the Union Home Secretary, to issue alterations in the guidelines in the wake of the requirement to open up economic activities while curbing the transmission of Covid-19. A fresh set of guidelines regarding what is allowed and restricted in different zones will be momentarily issued by The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
In extending the lockdown till May 31, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have also joined Punjab and Mizoram. Before these states, Telangana has already extended lockdown till May 29. Karnataka is the third state in the southern region to extend the lockdown. But unlike other states, Karnataka has extended lockdown only for two more days till May 19. The government officials stated that all orders in force from May 4 will go on.
“Scientists say that Corona will be a part of our lives for a very long time. But we can’t let our lives remain confined around Corona. We will wear masks and maintain social distancing but we will not let it affect us. So lockdown 4 will be in a new form with new rules,” PM Modi had said.
However, the lockdown has been extended by several states till May 31, before the Home Ministry issued guidelines. Here’s the list of states where lockdown has been extended:

While issuing the order of extension, the Maharashtra government stated that the calibrated phase-wise relaxation or extension of lockdown orders will be announced in due course.
