Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is currently admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Khar, Mumbai due to pneumonia. A patch was found in the actor’s lungs after which he was hospitalised.
According to his reports, he is expected to be discharged soon. Ratna Pathak Shah, the wife of Naseeruddin Shah, said that he is responding well to the treatment. She said, “ yes, he has a small patch and all is under control. He is responding well to treatment, so I hope he’ll be discharged soon.” Last year his son Vivaan Shah was forced to dismiss rumours of his father’s ill health. He tweeted on April 30, 2020, ” All well everyone! Baba’s just fine. He is keeping well. Praying for Irfan bhai and Chintu Ji. Missing them a lot. Deepest condolence to their families. Our hearts go out to all of them. It’s a devastating loss for all of us.”
Naseeruddin Shah made his debut with Shyam Benegal’s Nishant in 1975 and became an influential figure of parallel cinema in the 70s and 80s. He also featured in some of the biggest hits of the last two decades including Ishqiya, Dirty Picture and Zindagi na Milegi Dobara. He was last seen in Mee Raqsam. He also made his debut in Amazon prime video series Bandish Bandits.
