Nepal says, ‘90% of the cases in the nation are foreign returnees mostly from India’

Nepal has announced that most of the cases in the country are those people coming from India. The country confirms that the virus has spread to 75 of its 77 districts.

The number of cases in the country is close to reaching the 10,000 marks after 421 cases came up and pushed the numbers. According to the health ministry, 98% of the cases are shown to be asymptomatic

The exact number for cases in the country stands at 9,400+ with 1579 recoveries and 23 deaths. Out of the new 421 cases, there are 357 males and 64 female patients. The death rate also went up as a 63-year-old patient suddenly passed away after seeking treatment in India.

Meanwhile, the Nepal government bears the criticism of the protesters who criticise the government for corruption and increasing cases of COVID-19.

The Indian government has also called the border issue it faces with Nepal as a distraction to move the focus from corruption under KP Oli’s government.

Nepal’s decision to redraw their map which strategically accommodated key Indian territories was severely criticised by the citizens. India and Nepal are now trying to resolve the issue.
