Reports of Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat, aka actors playing Babita and Tapu respectively on television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, dating have surfaced, prompting an influx of memes and speculation from their massive fanbase. This alleged confirmation comes following rumours that already existed of the two sharing a romance.
As per a report by ETimes, a source said the couple’s “love story is old” and their families, as well as the show’s cast members, are in the know about it. Dutta and Anadkat have a nine-year age difference between them.
“Nobody teases them; they don’t try to steal moments with each other,” the source added. The report mentioned neither Dutta nor Anadkat responded to messages from the publication.
Rumours of the two datings have given way to a flood of chatter on social media, with ‘Jethalal’ trending on Twitter. Jethalal, played by Dilip Joshi, is smitten by Dutta’s character Babita Ji on Taarak Mehta, with the plot of their relationship serving as one of the most consistent and popular tracks on the 13-year-old sitcom. Anadkat, who joined the show in 2017 after Bhavya Gandhi’s exit, plays Tapu, Jethalal’s son.
