Rajnath Singh reaches Leh to review the border situation with China.

Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh arrived in the Leh on Friday to reivew the security scenario in this region, the on going tension due to China.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, Army chief General Manoj Mukunde Naravane also came along with Singh, on this visit. The defence minister visited Stakhna forward areas after going to Ladakh where the troops performed him paradropping skills of their armed forces.

The defence minister came on a two-day observation to Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. While he is in Ladakh on the first day of his visit today, the defence minister will go to Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
In the Twitter Singh said,

Both the India and China, recently held the 4th round of talks on disengagement in the eastern Ladakh. In the talks between troops commanders of the Indian and Chinese armies, that had been started on Tuesday and prolonged into early hours on Wednesday, both sides discussed the roadmap for the further reducing of tensions along the ‘Line of Actual Control’ (LAC).

The focus in the last round of military talk was to hammer out a consensus on relaxing tensions in the finger tip near Pangong Tso and the Depsang plains as well as pulling back their weapons and equipment from friction points in the other sectors, said people aware of developments.

The previous attempts of reduceing tensions along the border were made on the dates June 6, June 22 and June 30.

Singh visit was expected in early July but his tour was shifted. The defence minister had visited Ladakh two weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an unscheduled visit to this sector on July 3.

This tension along the LAC began, after the 20 Indian brave soldiers were killed by China during a face-off between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Ladakh’s Galwan valley on the June 15.
