Actress Rakul Preet Singh on Friday arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) Hyderabad zonal office in association with a drugs case. The drugs racket was busted on July 2, 2017, when customs authorities captured musician Calvin Mascarenhas and two others and seized drugs worth Rs 30 lakh from their ownership. In the investigation, they accepted that they used to parcel drugs to many Tollywood celebrities, software engineers, and even college students. Many Tollywood celebrities are summoned in this case. The ED has asked Ravi Teja to appear on September 9 and Mumaith Khan on September 15. However, it is made clear by the ED that celebrities are questioned as only witnesses, and no film celebrities are proved guilty till now.
Earlier on Tuesday, the film director Puri Jagannadh come to the ED office in Hyderabad in association with the drugs case. The case is related to the busting of a drugs racket in 2017. The ED has summoned a few other film identities of Tollywood in association with the case.
The excise department has till now questioned 62 people out of which 11 people were connected to Tollywood. Twelve cases are registered so far and 30 people are arrested.
