As a result, this isn’t Aryan Khan’s first encounter with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The inspector had stopped Shah Rukh at the Mumbai airport more than a decade ago and forced him to pay customs duty. In July 2011, Shah Rukh Khan was stopped and interrogated by a team of airport customs department headed by Sameer Wankhede. Shah Rukh Khan was fined Rs 1.5 lakh for carrying excess luggage. Wankhede reportedly stopped and questioned him for allegedly not declaring foreign goods that attracted duty.

Wankhede arrested several other celebrities during his stint at the airport customs, including Minissha Lamba, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Mika Singh, Bipasha Basu, Anurag Kashyap, Vivek Oberoi, Rhea Chakraborty, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan, to mention a few.

Meanwhile, Wankhede, the cruise drugs case’s lead investigator, is facing a torrent of allegations of his own. Nawab Malik, a Maharashtra minister and leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), accused Wankhede of using a forged caste certificate to obtain a government post under the reserved quota system. On Tuesday, Malik said he received a letter from an unnamed NCB officer stating that Wankhe was being investigated.
