Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap had their home and offices raided by the Income Tax Department. The “Pink” actor and the “Bombay Velvet” director who is currently shooting in Pune was also questioned by the department over the irregularities after not being able to come up with reasons.
The IT department had confiscated WhatsApp chats, emails, documents from their homes and offices.
The department also searched other members of the production house who were Vikramaditya Motwane, producer Vikas Bahl and producer-distributor Madhu Mantena.
In a news release, an official was quoted as, “Evidence related to manipulation and under-valuation of share transactions of the production house amongst the film directors and shareholders, having tax implication of about Rs 350 crore has been found and is being further investigated,“.
There also has been a discrepancy linked to the actress.
Having launched a now-defunct production house along with others, the two have yet to comment on the matter.
