Netflix has confirmed The Princess Switch 3, also known as The Princess Switch: Romancing the Star, following the success of The Princess Switch in 2018 and The Princess Switch: Switched Again in 2020. The third film was announced in November 2020, with Netflix promising that filming would take place in Scotland and that it will be released by the end of 2021.
Vanessa Hudgens will reprise her roles as Queen Margaret, Stacy, and Fiona, just as she did in the second film. Remy Hii joins the cast as Peter Maxwell, while Nick Sagar, Sam Palladio, and Alexa Adeosun are expected to return as Kevin, Prince Edward, and Olivia, respectively. We can also expect Mark Fleischmann and Suanne Braun to reprise their roles as Frank De Luca and Mrs Donatelli in the third instalment.
Kevin and Margaret are happily engaged, Margaret is queen, and Fiona has been incarcerated for her fraud attempts at the end of the second film, The Princess Switch: Switched Again. So, I’m not sure how Margaret enlists her assistance for the next film, but we’ll find out soon enough. The official synopsis from Netflix reads: “When a priceless relic is stolen, Margaret and Stacy enlist the help of Fiona to retrieve it… and rekindle the sparks of a Christmas romance.”
