Tokyo 2021 Olympics might get postponed again if the coronavirus situation is not under the control

The head of Tokyo’s Olympic organising body has confirmed that the Olympic games would be cancelled in place of getting postponed if the COVID-19 outbreak could not be restrained.

President of the Tokyo 2020 organising committee, Yoshiro Mori stated to Nikkon sports that this won’t be rescheduled to 2022 as games have always been called off during wars.

“If we can hold the Olympics after the world beats the virus, the games will have many times more value than in the past”, Mori stated. Recently Japan and the International Olympic Committee have contradicted on the fact that it would be difficult to bear the expenses for the already delayed games.

Mori further added that the subsidiary expenditures have been surveyed and it has been concluded that IOC will take responsibility for some of it.
Masa Takaya, spokesperson of the organising committee affirmed that they have set up a system to tackle the fight against coronavirus and are also in a partnership with WHO.
