TRUMP SAYS, I FEEL DIFFERENTLY ABOUT THE DEAL THAN I DID 3 MONTHS AGO ON TRADE DEAL WITH CHINA

On Tuesday, president Trump of the United States said he now feels different about the trade deal he signed earlier in the year with China.

In January, China and the US signed a trade deal to end their 22 months-long trade war. In the agreement, China agreed to increase its purchase of US goods by USD 200 billion in 2020- 2021.

Before the trade deal, there were accusations that China had been manipulating its currency and stealing trade secrets of the US. The president said “I feel differently now about that deal than I did three months ago, we will see what all happens, but it’s been a very disappointing situation.

The very disappointing thing happened with China because the plague flowed in and that wasn’t supposed to happen and it could have been stopped”. He said this to reporters during a cabinet meeting at the White House. The coronavirus had thrown the US economy into recession, a large number of people have lost their jobs, about 1.5 million people have tested positive and over 92,000 deaths.

The president also said he was very excited about the deal until the virus came in. He said, “it just seems to mean less to me, it was very exciting, one of the biggest deals ever made.

But once the virus came in, I said, “how did they let this happen?”. The agreement was first reported in December and included a commitment from China to stop intellectual property theft, purchase an additional $200 billion in US products, cooperate in financial services and refrain from currency manipulation. Many of the states in the US have begun to reopen after all the necessary precautions were taken.
