US PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SAYS COVID-19 PRESS-BRIEFINGS ARE NOT WORTH HIS TIME AND EFFORTS

The daily White House briefing in the United States has been going on for about a month but on Saturday president Donald Trump stayed back from the briefing after his advisers warned that the briefing was affecting his political career. The president responded to his absence from the briefing on twitter “what is the purpose of having white house news conferences when the lamestream media asks nothing but hostile questions and refuses to report the truth or facts accurately”. He also said Americans get nothing but fake news and it’s not worth the time and effort. The president faced a lot of criticism especially after health experts warned citizens not to listen to the president’s advise on injecting disinfectants.

The president has on Thursday said that COVID-19 patients might be treated with ultraviolet lights or by injecting disinfectants. The United States has had 50 white house briefing in all, his advisers warned that the briefings were affecting his campaign. The briefings have been a platform for him to promote his administration policies and attack political rivals. The briefings which also airs in the early evenings last for about two hours. President Trump has debunked the disinfectant rumour by saying he was been sarcastic. Some even believe Trump’s briefing served more political purposes rather than an attempt to inform the public. In the United States currently, there are about 53,000 deaths and over 890,524 infected cases. World wide about 2.3 million people have died from the virus.
