WHO CAUTIONS THE NATION OVER CORONAVIRUS IMMUNITY AS THE GLOBAL DEATH TOLL HITS 200,000

The death toll of the Covid-19 pandemic globally has risen to 200,000 as the World Health Organization warns against the use of immunity passports. The immunity passport has been objected by the WHO because there is no evidence that recovery from Covid-19 means that reinfection can’t occur. World wide reported cases of coronavirus have almost exceeded 3 million. The warning is coming as some countries such as Chile decided that their government was giving health passports to recovered COVID-19 patients to go back to work after the lockdown. In a statement made by the world health organization “there is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection”, the organization also said that people who believe they are immune to a second infection may ignore public health advice.
