There was a lot of buzz about Vicky Kaushal’s film The Immortal Ashwatthama. The pair of Vicky and Sara Ali Khan was going to be seen together for the first time in this film. But now this hope of the fans has been dashed. There are reports that the producer of the film, Ronnie Screwvala, has put the Ashwatthama film on hold indefinitely due to budget constraints. Apart from this, the film has also suffered heavy losses.
Bollywood Hungama, quoting the source, wrote, ‘Preparations were being made for Ashwatthama for the last two years. The team did pre-visualisation, several meetings with the VFX team, and International Action Unit was called to train Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal in action. Producer Ronnie Screwvala has spent more than 30 crores on this and now all this investment has gone somewhere in a jiffy.
The source also told that all was not well between the producer Ronnie Screwvala and director Aditya Dhar regarding the budget and creative aspects of the film, after which this decision was taken. He further said, ‘After investing a fixed amount, Ronnie realized that the budget of the film is going out of his control and it is not possible for him to recover so much money in this Corona period.’
Earlier it was decided to make this film under a fixed budget, but pre-production work started, every day the budget increased. After all, he thought it right to let the investment of 30 crores go. He had a meeting with the investors, actors and director and then he took a difficult decision to put the film on hold.
