The 2023 Met Gala, the biggest fashion night of the year, has finally arrived on the first Monday of May, like every year. From Priyanka Chopra making heads turn with her 11.5-carat diamond necklace that costs a whopping $25 million, which is Rs 204 crore to Alia Bhatt`s pristine white outfit as she made her debut was full of glitz and glamour.
Channelling her inner princess, Alia Bhatt turned heads in a stunning white beaded dress by fashion designer Prabal Gurung. She also walked the white carpet with the designer in a white tailored suit for the special occasion.
The 30-year-old has the motto of the night “Karl Lagerfeld: “A Line of Beauty” in honour of the late Chanel designer.
She debuted “Fashion’s Biggest Night” in ivory silk, wearing her gown of tulle and satin organza balls, featuring an exaggerated basque waist and hand-embroidered beads.
“I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by Prabal Gurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met,” she wrote alongside a series of pictures from the gala.
