Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Kulkarni, Akshaye Khanna, Dimple Kapadia, Suchitra Pillai, etc have acted in the film. Over the years the film gained cult status. The story is set in mostly Urban Mumbai and Sydney. It also focuses on a major period of change in the lives of three male protagonists.
The story of the film includes 3 childhood friends Akash Malhotra (Amir Khan), Sameer Mulchandani (Saif Ali Khan), and Siddharth Sinha aka Sid (Akshaye Khanna). Akash is not a believer in love and doesn’t have a relationship that lasts more than 2 weeks. Sameer is a Sociable, Desperate, and Romantic. He is also a confused person who is prone to romantic infatuation. Every time he meets a girl he thinks he has found his soul mate. Sid is a painter by profession and is the most mature of the three. She has no interest in petty romance and is dedicated to her work.
Akash got the breakup with Sameer and his current girlfriend Priya (Suchitra Pillai), done during his graduation party. During college parties, When his eyes fall on Shalini (Preity Zinta), he sings this song to impress her. His friends also joined him in singing and dancing sequences.
