Actress Vidya Balan raises over 2500 PPE kits and Rs 16 lakh for the frontline health workers across the nation

Vidya Balan is one of the best actresses that the Indian film industry has to offer. She has
always proved herself and singlehandedly led to the success of many of her films. Quite
recently, Vidya Balan had donated 1000 PPE kits to the frontline health workers.

In a video message posted on her Facebook page, the actor announced that she is additionally collaborating with celebrity shout-out platform Tring to boost money for extra 1000 PPE kits.

In the video, she said, “In the war against COVID-19 our health care professionals are like our soldiers at the border fighting for our health and freedom. Just like we equip our soldiers for the battle we must do an equivalent with our medical staff. There is a critical shortage of PPE for our senior doctors, residents, nurses and ward boys in their daily work.”

As a result, tons of our hospitals aren’t working at full capacity. Join me in changing this
now. I’m donating 1000 PPE kits to hospital and medical staff across the country. And I am pledging to raise money for another 1000,”

Not only did she raise the mentioned extra 1000 PPE kits but she raised over 2500 of them. She released another video on her Instagram handle thanking all those who made it possible. “I’ve woken up to good news this morning. We’ve reached 2500+ PPE kits and raised over 16 lakh in just a few hours. A big thank you to each of you who has donated and made this possible. A load of gratitude and bless you. This is truly the unity and spirit of India…” she said in the video.

She captioned the video as, “Thank you very much for your generous donations from all over the world. I’m elated to share that we have raised 2500+ kits accounting over Rs.16 lakhs within a few hours. A load of gratitude for helping in donating over double our initial target. The campaign will run for some more time, so if you haven’t been able to donate yet but want to help out, go towww.tring.co.in and donate whatever you can. Every single kit is helping protect a life.
