Amitabh Bachchan pens a heartfelt Memoriam on his blog to pay tribute to his friend Rishi Kapoor

Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor took his last breath on Thursday in Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai after a prolonged fight with cancer. Kapoor was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after he complained of uneasiness. Amongst many Celebrities who bewailed the loss of veteran actor and paid tribute to him by their twitter handles, the megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed his grieve by posting an elaborate note to pay tribute to the late actor.

Big B starts the blog with the first meeting of Rishi Kapoor and him. He stated that he met Kapoor when Big B was invited to Raj Kapoor’s house on those ‘rare moments.’ Sharing his first meeting, he wrote, “I had seen him at his home Deonar Cottage, Chembur, a young energetic, bubbly, mischief in his eyes Chintu, on those rare moments once I was privileged to possess been invited to an evening at Raj ji’s house ..”
Calling him “a diligent enthusiastic youngster, able to pounce onto every learning that came his way”, Big B wrote that would also see Rishi Kapoor at RK Studios especially the time when he was being trained to feature in the film Bobby. Besides this, Big also compared Rishi Kapoor to his grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor as he would walk confidently and determination.

Describing him as “a diligent enthusiastic youngster”, he wrote, “I would see him more often after, at RK Studios, when he trained as an actor for his film to be made, BOBBY .. a diligent enthusiastic youngster, ready to pounce onto every learning that came his way, therein famous large and legendary structure room, of Raj ji at the end of the first-floor corridor of make up rooms ..” Aside from this he also compared Rishi Kapoor to his grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor as he would resemble his grandfather in walking with confidence and determination.

He wrote He had a walk that was confident and determined .. a stride and style that was similar to that of his grandfather, the legendary Prithvi Raj Ji .. a walk I had noticed in one among his earlier films .. that walk .. I never found it in the other ..”
Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor have worked together in several films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, Kabhi Kabhie, Ajooba. Last time they were seen together in 102 Not Out in 2018.

Further, he shared how they did several films together and mentioned that there was no other actor could match the way he lip-syncs perfectly as he did. “When he spoke his lines, you believed every word of it .. there was never an alternate .. its genuineness was undoubtedly ..And there has never been any other, that could lip-sync a song as perfectly as he would .. never …”, he further wrote.

Sharing about the Rishi Kapoor’s love for board games, Big B wrote, “When there was a time-lapse as the shot got readied during a shoot, he would bring out his playing cards, or sometimes pull out his rather complicated Bagatelle board and invite others to play.. a contest .. not only for fun.. a significant competition..”

In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer and he spent almost a year in New York for the treatment.
Stating about Rishi Kapoor’s health condition, Bachchan wrote, “During his time of diagnosis and his treatment he never ever lamented his condition .. it was always .. ‘see you soon, just a routine visit to the hospital .. I’ll be back shortly.’ Joie de vivre .. the exuberant enjoyment of life, was a gene he inherited from his father .. the Legend, the last word Showman the long-lasting Raj Kapoor.

He winded up the blog by stating that he never visited Rishi Kapoor in the hospital. He wrote,” I never visited him in Hospital .. I never wanted to see the distress on his smiling cherubic face. But I am certain .. when he went, he must have gone with a mild smile “.
