Around 20 Delhi Metro staff members tests positive for Covid-19

During the lockdown phase 4.0 between May 18th to 31st, the Delhi government had requested the centre to allow Metro services in the city but the team rejected the demand, however, other public transport had already begun in the national capital on May 19. Now, it has been reported by the sources that Twenty Delhi Metro staff residing in the Delhi-NCR region have been tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Various Delhi Metro rail corporation (DMRC) officials were been coming regularly to the office premises to make sure the smooth resumption of the services so that whenever the orders will come from the government and the DMRC agreed to start the Metros then the commuters and staff members do not have to face any kind of obstacles. The services of Delhi Metro were suspended on March 22nd’2020 due to the Covid-19 generating lockdown.  

All the employees of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation have shown praiseworthy toughness in reporting back to their duties to keep the metro system in all readiness for the eventual resumption of the services which has been proved that along with the whole country, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation staff member is also fighting against this prevailing pandemic virus. So, every staff members of DMRC is recovering slowly and it proves that in this hour of difficulty, the spirit of the DMRC continues to remain high.

Managing director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation – Dr Mangu Singh urged all the staff members of DMRC to follow the guidelines issued by the government like following social distancing norms and wearing masks for their safety purpose and wish all the infected members from this Covid-19 a speedy recovery. It has been stated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation that untamed spirit will surely be going to help the Delhi Metro whenever they want to start their services in the future. DMRC officials told that the members who have been tested positive for Covid-19 are not exhibiting any symptoms of the disease but still we have requested them to follow the safety measures issued by the government.

Till now the national capital has reported around 25000 cases of prevailing pandemic COVID-19 with the death rate at 650. It has been observed that half of the nation has been engulfed by this pandemic virus Covid-19 whose vaccination has not been developed and still, scientists from all over the world are trying their best to work on the same. This infectious virus i.e. coronavirus has also affected the Indian economy. Some guidelines have been issued by the Union health ministry such as – mandatory thermal screening, compulsory face masks and focusing on hygiene keeping in mind the increasing number of infected cases because of the pandemic disease- Covid-19 which is growing at the speedy rate in India.

Staff members of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation have been scattered across the NCR and were reporting back to their duties to ensure that the state of the Metro system is fully prepared so that once it restarts its services then they do not have to face any kind of problem. It has been stated by the DMRC official member that the spirit of all the staff members will surely help the Metro services to work at a faster pace whenever they reopen their services. Currently, a helpline service of Delhi Metro services is also not available but for any issue related to Metro, you can contact them through their email id – helpline@dmrc.org.It has been announced by the Delhi Metro that as per the guidelines issued by the government, Metro services will remain closed for the commuters until any further notice and will update very soon once it starts it services.
