Aviation Minister says, ‘Will try to resume international flights before August’

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has reported that the government is trying to recommence international flight services with a considerable number of passenger flights before August. Though the domestic flights have been announced to resume from May 25, the restarting of international flights is yet uncertain.

The Ministry is currently emphasizing on the operation of domestic flights. But they have also ensured that 50,000 citizens will be repatriated through special flights within the first 25 days of Vande Bharat mission.

Minister Puri had earlier stated that they would keep an observation on the public means of transport for a few days. Moreover, he said that they need to resolve the local transport issues first and also wait until the railways and buses resume their services in concern of those who will be travelling internationally in the future.

The domestic flights have been allowed to operate from May 25 in an organised manner and the minimum and maximum fares are fixed on the basis of the duration of the flight.
