Ayushman Khurana to be celebrity advocate for UNICEF, check here

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is welcomed by UNICEF as it’s new Celebrity Advocate for Children’s Right Campaign. Ayushmann has been hired to support UNICEF towards ending violence against children. According to the press release issued on behalf of the actor, he will be working on this initiative in India and will join the likes of former football star David Beckham.

UNICEF’s representative in India Dr Yashmini Ali Haque said they are very privileged to have Ayushmann Khurrana is their celebrity advocate. They have fate in him and believe that he will surely bring a huge change and will work for the welfare of our society.
Dr Haque said, “He will bring sensitivity, passion and a powerful voice for every child, with a specific focus towards ending violence against children”.

In a statement, she also said, “Ayushmann’s support will help increase awareness about this important issue, especially now with COVID-19 heightening the risk of violence and abuse against children due to the extended lockdown and the socio-economic impacts of the pandemic”.

Ayushmann Khurrana said he is pleased to be a part of UNICEF who is working for such a great cause as he believes every child deserves a better opportunity in their life.

In an interview, he said, “As I watch my children play in the safety and happiness of our home, I think about all the children who never get to experience a safe childhood and grow up with violence at home or outside. With UNICEF, I look forward to supporting the rights of the most vulnerable children, so that they grow up as happier, healthier, educated citizens in nurturing environments free from violence”.
