Covid19 lockdown in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur, Solan extended till June 30

Hamirpur and Solan districts in Himachal Pradesh may extend the lockdown upto one more month after the fourth phase of nationwide lockdown is lifted on May 31.

The district magistrates of the aforesaid regions have published an order on Monday to continue the curfew till June 30.

Though both the orders did not specify anything about the lockdown, it’s prolongation has been indicated. The statewide curfew along with lockdown would be in place to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Hamirpur and Solan, both the districts are providing ample hours of lockdown amidst the curfew every day. Also, the daily necessities services remain open even during the curfew hours.

63 COVID- 19 cases have been reported in Hamirpur while 21 people have tested positive for the virus in Solan. Himachal Pradesh has currently 214 cases with 5 casualties.

Authorities informed that number of coronavirus cases upsurged in Hamirpur after people from different parts of the nation reached the area recently.

District Magistrate Harikesh Meena stated more than 10,000 people have returned to Hamirpur from various red zones in the country in the last 30 days.
