Delhi University sets tentative dates for UG and PG admission registrations and entrance exams. Everything you need to know.

The University of Delhi has finally set the tentative dates for applying for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. So, the application process for both these courses is likely to start effectively from June 8th’2020 and the candidate can apply online till June 30th’2020.
Announcement of the tentative dates for these courses was been decided in the meeting of the academic council which was organized on May 29th’2020. It was discussed that the entrance exams conducted by the National Testing Agency for postgraduate courses are likely to be conducted from July 27th to August 10th’2020. Thereafter, the first cut off list will be going to release on August 11th, following which, the second, third, fourth and fifth cut-off list will be disclosed.

It was also declared that all the applicants who want to apply for the courses must register themselves through the university of Delhi online admissions portal i.e.” du.ac.in”. Students applying for undergraduate courses for 2020-21 will be managed only through this admission portal. Also, it has been decided that there will be no offline admission for any applicant. Application of those students who have applied through this online portal for the admission will be considered for the admission as per the guidelines issued by the Delhi
University.

Dates scheduled for applying for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses by the Delhi University are made tentative because of the increasing number of coronavirus infections at a speedy rate in India. It has also been declared by the ministry of home affairs that still the
school and colleges will remain closed except for organizing the pending board examinations. Results of the post-graduate entrance examination will be soon released by August 14 as stated by the Delhi University and the new academic session for those students who have applied for the post-graduate course is expected to begin from September onwards.

It has also been declared by the University grants commission that they have already issued the guidelines to all the universities regarding the admission to UG and PG courses as per the academic calendar. The academic session will start from August for the existing students and from September onwards the session will begin for the new students as per the guidelines issued by the UGC. Earlier, it was been decided by the Delhi University that the application process for the UG and PG courses will begin from April 2nd ‘2020 onwards and
the exam will be held from June 2nd to 9th ‘2020.

A lot of anxiety has been created among the students because of the delay in the admissions and exams for UG and PG courses so considering the same, the Delhi University come forward and took the steps and announced the tentative dates for the courses. It has also been observed that for the first time the Delhi University will completely go online with the admission process from registrations to cut-off to verification of documents for applying for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Earlier, the students have to go through the hectic process like selecting the courses details, certificates and mark sheets once their results are announced for registering themselves. Now, keeping in mind the norms of social distancing, Delhi University has finally decided to make the admission process completely
online.

This type of decision will provide a sort of relief both to the students and teachers as students can apply online from their home and especially, they do not have to come from various parts of the country and it will also help in avoiding the crowd. Such type of decision-related to the setting of the tentative dates for UG and PG admission registrations and entrance exams is been taken by the Delhi University keeping in mind the safety of the students.
