Andor is an upcoming American television series written by Dan Gilroy, Tony Gilroy, Beau Willimon and Stephen Schiff and directed by Benjamin Caron, Toby Haynes and Susanna White. It is based on the Star Wars films by George Lucas and it is created by Tony Gilroy.
This series is the prequel to the Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One (2016) and it follows the thief turned Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the five years before the events of the film. The series depicts the time when the Rebel Alliance forms and develops in opposition to the Galactic Empire.
The producers are Kate Hazell, Kathleen Kennedy, David Meanti, Sanne Wohlenberg and Diego Luna under Lucasfilm Productions. The lead role in the series is played by Diego Luna while Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw play supporting roles.
The cinematography is done by Adriano Goldman, Damian Garcia and Frank Lamm and it is edited by Frances Parker. Each episode’s running time consists of 35-40 minutes. The first season of the series comprises 12 episodes. Andor is scheduled to be released on 21st September and distributed by Disney Platform Distribution.
