PM Narendra Modi declared a three-week nationwide lockdown starting midnight Tuesday, explaining that it was the only way of breaking the Covid-19 infection cycle. This essentially extended the lockdown from most states and Union Territories to the entire country and provided a more definite timeline. “Social distancing is the only way to break the cycle of infection,” he said. All other lockdown conditions, such as the availability of essential commodities, remain the same, the government clarified.

Now that the country is in a lockdown for the next 21 days, popular celebrities regularly post their photos and videos of they spend the quarantine days. Many share their hobbies like reading, singing, dancing and other activities on the Social Media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Many of them post their workout photos and videos about to be fit and healthy, and exercises they perform at home.

Among other activities, Bollywood celebrities have been working out like crazy while passing their time in self-quarantine. They’ve also been encouraging fans to do the same. But as it turns out, not every celebrity endorses this lifestyle while practising social distancing. After actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, now, its filmmaker Farah Khan, who has taken to social media to ask celebrities to stop doing that. In a video message, Farah tells her peers, ‘I can understand that you’ll are privileged and you’ll don’t have any other worries in this global pandemic except for looking after your figures but most of us have bigger concerns during this crisis.’ Stars like Katrina, Varun, Sara, Sunny and many others have posted workout from home videos, so far.

The pandemic of novel coronavirus has put the whole country under a lockdown. On day two of the lockdown, filmmaker Farah Khan took to her Instagram to criticise celebs who are sharing their workout videos on their social media handles. She did not take any specific names in her video, but several Bollywood stars have been sharing with fans on how to work out at home. Farah Khan criticised these stars by saying that coronavirus has made life difficult and not many are interested in the videos as survival is at stake.

It is a well known fact that Farhan Khan doesn’t shy away from speaking her mind and sharing her opinions on social media. Farah took to Twitter to share a video where she has slammed all the Bollywood celebs who have been posting workout videos on social media. As all the gyms are shut during the lockdown, celebs like Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez have been sharing their workout regimes with their fans on their social media platforms.

Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan without mentioning any specific names, criticised the stars, saying that the people around the world have “bigger concerns” than working out during the ongoing global pandemic.

In a video, which she shared on her official Instagram handle, Farah said, “I have a humble request to all ‘celebrities’ and ‘stars’ that please stop making your workout videos and bombarding us with it. I can understand that you all are privileged and you don’t have any other worries in this global pandemic except for looking after your figures. But some of us, most of us have bigger concerns during this crisis.

So, please have mercy on us and stop posting your workout videos. And, if you can’t stop then please don’t feel bad, if I unfollow you.

Farah Khan’s video has been met with mixed response. While many criticised her for unnecessarily bashing celebrities, whose videos might act as a motivation for a lot of people staying at home, her colleagues from the industry thanked her for sharing their sentiments.

Actress Tabu echoed a similar sentiment as she commented, “Best Farah.. #notguiltyfornotworkingout’. Director Zoya Akhtar said, “You are the best.” Filmmaker Karan Johar and Sonam Kapoor among others posted laughing emojis under her video. Actor Arjun Kapoor wrote, “I think you need to workout in the gym downstairs in your building ASAP!!!” To which, Farah replied, “Shut up.. . lockdown means no getting out of the house..”

Many Bollywood celebrities including Katrina Kaif, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sara Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, Rakul Preet Singh and Shilpa Shetty Kundra have been sharing their workout photos and videos on social media to seemingly trying to improve moral of those staying home in favour of social distancing.

Even though Farah didn’t directly mention anyone in the video, it is quite evident that she is clearly not happy with her colleagues.
