Gautam Gambhir’s father, Deepak Gambhir owned a white Toyota Fortuner SUV. The Fortuner was parked outside their residence at 3:30 pm on Wednesday but it was missing on Thursday morning.

“We received information that a Fortuner car has been stolen from the house of MP Gambhir. Station House Officer (SHO) along with staff reached his house and met his father to get the details of the car. A CCTV camera footage was also recovered,” said the police.

According to police, a CCTV camera footage has been recovered and is being screened to crack the case. The CCTV footage shows that the thieves came during a car and swiftly stole Mr Gambhir’s car. Their faces aren’t visible and therefore the police are yet to seek out their identities.

Following a complaint by Gambhir’s father, an FIR was filed at Rajendra Nagar police station and several teams of the Central district special staff and therefore the Crime Branch is formed to nab the accused. “A forensics team was also called in to lift the fingerprints and footprints from the spot,” an officer said.
