Justice AK Tripathi was a judicial member of Lokpal and former Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court. He was tested positive for coronavirus last month, breathed his last after suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday. He left us at the age of 62 around 9 pm. He was admitted at AIIMS Trauma Centre in New Delhi.
The hospital was converted for the COVID-19 patients in the last week of April. His daughter, also infected with coronavirus, is still admitted at AIIMS.
“He was very sick. He was in the ICU and on a ventilator for last three days,” one of the sources said.
Justice Tripathi had also served as an Additional Advocate General in Bihar. Later, he was elevated as Additional Judge of the Patna High Court and later the Chief Justice. He was appointed the Judicial Member of the Lokpal on March 23 last year.
