According to the data by Twitter BTS, a boy band from South Korea ranked 6th in the list of most tweeted about people worldwide in 2020. If this can’t be enough for the joy BTS also ranked 1st in the list of most tweeted K POP accounts globally in 2020. Above all BTS was one of the two from the music category to be ranked in the list of most tweeted about people in 2020. The other is Kanye Waste, who is ranked 8th on the list. The craze of BTS is also seen in the US by ranking them no.1 most tweeted about musicians in the US in the first six months of Quarantine.
The seven-membered boy band BTS also known as the Bangtan Boys from South Korea started formation in 2010 and made their debut in 2013 under the company BigHit Entertainment. By 2017, BTS entered the global music market leading the Korean Wave and broke many records. In 2018 BTS entered the US Billboard 200 charts with their album Love Yourself: Tears.
In February 2020 they released their new album “Map of the Soul: 7” which made them the best-selling artist in Korean history. BTS also ranked 45 on Billboard’s Top Touring Artists of the 2010s, the only non-English speaking act on the list. BTS’s last release “DYNAMITE” in August amassed 101.1 Million Views within 24 hours of its release, setting an all-time record, according to YouTube.
Dynamite also smashed the record for the biggest music video Premiere with over three million peak concurrent viewers immediately upon release. It also ranked no. 1 in both Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. In November they released their new album “BE”.
