So, it came as a surprise, when the hashtag #BoycottKareenaKapoorKhan, started trending on the social media platform, Twitter. Since the past few weeks, rumours were afloat, in the film industry, about Kareena, being offered the role of ‘Sita’ in Alaukik Desai’s ‘Sita: The Incarnation’.
The actress allegedly, demanded a fat fee, of Rs.12 Crores, to work in the film. The public got enraged and about her demanding so much money to play the mythological Goddess. They said she did not deserve to play the role, and suggested the names of other actresses like Kangana Ranaut and Yami Gautam, for the role. This entire episode took a nasty, communal turn when some BJP leaders also got involved in this discussion and demanded that she change her son’s name if she wished to play Sita. Some people also dragged her husband, Saif Ali Khan, into this whole discussion.
On the 16th of October, 2012, Kareena and Saif got married and became parents to their sons in 2016 and 2021 respectively. She was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’ with Irrfan Khan and Dimple Kapadia. She will next be seen with Aamir Khan, in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which is an Indian remake of the American comedy-drama ‘Forrest Gump’. She also has Karan Johar’s directorial venture, period drama ‘Takht’, in her kitty.
