Michael Pompeo Says US Government Is Very Sure That COVID19 Emerged Out Of Wuhan Lab

Michael Pompeo, the United States secretary of state said he has seen evidence that the covid-19 virus came from a lab in Wuhan (Wuhan Institute of Virology). The secretary made this known on Wednesday. “ I cannot say much about the intelligence we have collected with respect to this. But we know enough now to be confident of this”. The theory of the global virus being man-made or modified in a laboratory has been pushed by President Trump’s administration. Pompeo made his statement while on an interview with fox news. This is coming weeks after it was discovered that President Trump had sent US intelligence agencies to discover if the virus was manmade and the spies had come back with reports saying that they do not believe the virus was manmade. Yuan Zhiming, the director of the Wuhan laboratory had denied any link connecting the virus to the laboratory.

On April 30th President Trump during a White House event had said he has “high degree of confidence” that the virus came from a laboratory in Wuhan. The World Health Organization has before dismissed Pompeo’s claims as ‘speculative’. Reports say that US intelligence is worried that pressure on president Trump might be responsible for making him speculative about the virus. Pompeo said “Happy to see other evidence that disappears that. We should get to the bottom of it”. He also added that “We know the Chinese knew about this at least by December and did not act fast enough, that the World Health Organization at the behest of the Chinese failed to declare this a panic in a timely fashion”.
