Producer Guild Of India’s CEO Kulmeet Makkar dies at the age of 60, Karan Johar, Subhash Ghai and others paid their condolences

Kulmeet makkar was an entertainment industry professional with a work experience of about thirty years. He was chief executive officer of producers guild of India.
Kulmeet was a committed professional and was dedicated to developing the craft of content production by way of global affiliations, workshops, networking opportunities, panel discussions and participation in summits, festivals and events worldwide.

Kulmeet was responsible for hosts of initiatives involving the development of the film, television and new media production sector in our country India, focusing on the policy matters, copyright protection, government regulations, taxation, alliances and partnerships with other producers and also industry associations and film commissions across the world, Film festivals, Filming including locations and production incentives amongst others.

Kulmeet makkar on Friday suffered from a sudden heart attack and departed to heaven. The 60-year-old died in Himachal Pradesh.

Knowing his sudden demise was heart-wrenching. Bollywood was undergoing the grief of demise of the two legendary actors namely Irrfan khan and Rishi Kapoor and the news of the demise of kulmeet makkar made the situation worse for everyone.
Karan Johar offered his condolences to kulmeet’s family by writing a heartfelt note on his Twitter account. He wrote. Kulmeet you were such an incredible pillar to all of us at the Producers Guild of India….relentlessly working for the industry and towards its enhancement and advancement… you left us too soon…We will miss you and always remember you fondly…. Rest in peace, my friend…

Producers Guild of India wrote that Today they had lost their pillar of strength. Kulmeet is irreplaceable. His passion, integrity, resourcefulness and commitment were only matched by his deep empathy and unique ability to find a way through the toughest situations. Today they have lost someone who has played an integral role – always unassumingly and behind the scenes to nurture and grow the Indian film and television industry. Their dearest Kulmeet will always be missed. His legacy will live on.

Subhash Ghai was also really disturbed knowing the demise of Gurmeet and therefore wrote Another shock to Bollywood. Kulmeet Makkar passed away cause of heart attack. We will miss you, sir.

Actor Farhan Akhtar, director Ashutosh Gowariker, actor Sanjay Suri and director hansel Mehta along with various other celebrities paid their condolences to kulmeet Kakkar’s family.
