Before meeting Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan was married to Jaya Bachchan with two kids. It was a love marriage. It was only after a few years that Rekha came into the limelight.
Rekha and Big B met on the sets of Do Anjaane which sparked the love between them. Earlier the relationship was kept secret but later, it made headlines. Rekha was all open about their relationship but the shenshah never open his mouth. When the matter was discussed between the three, Jaya told her that she would never leave her husband. Silsila was the last film of the duo which starred all three together.
After the film, Rekha did not want to become the ‘side one’ in the relationship. She soon realized that there is no future for them and that Amitabh is not going to leave his wife for her. This led to both of them cutting ties with each other and ignoring each other completely.
