It has been a whopping 15 years since Parineeta (translated: the married woman) released. Parineeta was released on 10 June 2005 and was directed by Pardeep Sonkar. Sarkar even won National award for best first film director for this movie.
Today, Parineeta marks it’s 15 years in the Bollywood film industry. On the very special day various stars like Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt, Dia Mirza pay their tribute towards the movie. Sharing a short video from the film, Sanjay Dutt who played the role of Girish because of his
versatility thanks to everyone for giving so much love to this romantic drama. His affable nature and memorable performance during film making was a plus and thus resulted in his powerful presence.
Most of the film was shot in Kolkata thus the city of Kolkata was beautifully shown in the movie. To recreate the 60’s era lots of efforts were made by producers and that 60’s look was well captured in cameras, and this could be the main reason why Parineeta won five Filmfare Awards.

Vidya Balan who made her debut with Pradeep Sarkar musical drama took to social media and thanks to everyone. Parineeti is an Indian musical drama film adaptation of 1914, Bengali novella of the same name i.e, Parineeta by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Vidhya Balan played the role of Lalita, a woman of dignity with eternal love for Shekhar. Vidya exuded elegance, dressed in sober Indian clothes.
Saif Ali Khan was not the first choice as, Shekhar. However, Abhishek Bachhan backed out from the movie and he readily took the project.
Though critics had high expectations from Parineeta music. But overall this a remarkable movie in the history of Indian cinema. You must watch it if you don’t. With lots of love to “Parineeta.”
