Sonakshi Sinha auctions her artwork in her ‘Bid for Good’ initiative to help the daily wage labourers

Actor Sonakshi Sinha is listing her name among the other Bollywood celebrities who are working and doing charity for a good cause amid the coronavirus pandemic. Stepping ahead to raise funds, Sonakshi Sinha is auctioning her artwork including digital prints, sketches and large canvas paintings in her ‘Bid for Good’ initiative to provide free ration kits to the unprivileged, homeless and migrant workers.

The actor took to twitter, she posted a video to announce for the auction, she says, “Bid for good! Hi everyone! I have teamed up with @FankindOfficial to auction my art, and HELP RAISE FUNDS to provide DAILY WAGE WORKERS with ration kits. All the sketches and canvases that are up for auction have been created by me, over the years, and each piece holds a very special place in my heart.

With your support, we can make a difference. Let’s come together during these testing times.” Working for charity with Anshula Kapoor’s Fankind, Sonakshi Sinha has shared painting worth Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000.

Mankind is a celebrity fundraising and charity platform headed by Anshula Kapoor, daughter of Boney Kapoor. The organisation receives a donation from the fans of celebrities and in the exchange set up a meeting with the stars or get something from them.

With her artwork being auctioned Sonakshi Sinha said in her video that the artwork and paintings are very close to her, she has made the paintings with nothing but love and hopes the owner will keep the paintings with the care and will feel proud for helping people. Earlier Sonakshi thanked her fans for donating PPE kits to the healthcare workers.

To support her Kalank co-star, Alia Bhatt took to twitter to support Sonakshi. She wrote, “So proud of you @sonakshisinha! Guys, support the cause, bid for good! https://bit.ly/FankindAuction,” she also encouraged her fans to follow the Bid for God to help the needy people. Many other friends of Sonakshi from the industry supported her.

Namely Dia Mirza, Apoorva Mehta, CEO and Producer, Dharma Productions, Gulshan Grover, Varun Sharma, Kriti Sanon, comedian and actor Maniesh Paul and filmmaker Karan Johar. Retweeting Sonakshi’s video Karan Johar wrote, “Such a solid initiative Sona!” Kriti Sanon too took to twitter and wrote, “This is so wonderful!! Have always admired your art Sona! And now it’s gonna help a greater cause!! Guys, donate generously and treasure one of her beautiful art pieces for life!”

Many celebrities are coming together to help the people affected by the novel coronavirus. They have donated PPE kits and masks to the healthcare workers and policeman. In India, the number of coronavirus cases has reached around 81,000 with 2,469 deaths across the country.
