The meeting’s main focus will be to analyze the pros and cons of Unlock, how it is being implemented, and if any issues need attention. With the relaxation of all lockdown restrictions in most parts of the country, the meeting is aimed at knowing if the decision is right.

The GoM will examine the overall situation in the country. The novel coronavirus is showing utterly no signs in subsiding, despite the long lockdown with strict restrictions. Also, the WHO (World Health Organisation) hailed the rise in the number of positive coronavirus cases all over the world.

India is presently the sixth worst affected country in the world, regarding the severity of the Coronavirus pandemic. In the last 24 hours, as many as 9,987 new cases were reported. The total number of confirmed cases is 2,66,598, with 7,466 deaths.

Thought the mortality rate is less, bad facilities make the situation in the country bad. The Government has allowed the opening of malls, markets, restaurants, and places of worship. Movie Theatres have not been opened yet. The Center is closely monitoring the situation.
The recovery rate is over 48%, which is a piece of good news. However, most of the cases have been reported from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi, adding up to 1.5 lakh cases. These three states constitute the majority of the cases in the country.

Thus in the meeting, the GoM will have a close look at the various aspects related to the first phase of exit from lockdown, Unlock 1.O. Especially about the recommencement of international commercial flights and educational institutions.
