UPSC dates to be announced later, says the commission

The Union Public Service Commission Examination dates(UPSC) has had a meeting today, viz, 15 March to discuss the dates of examinations and interviews, in regard of this extended lockdown.
The Commission has declared that the dates for the remaining Civils Services 2019 personality tests will be taken after the second phase of lockdown, that is, after 3 May 2020.

The Commission has also decided to meet periodically to take further decisions and also review the situations regularly.
The dates for Civil Services 2020(Prelim), Engineering Services(Main) and the Geologist Services(Main) Examinations were declared before the lockdown. These dates could remain unchanged unless there is any notification by the Commission. Further changes would be specified on their official website.

Also, as there has been a cut in the pay to all Government employees because of this outbreak, the UPSC chairman and members have decided to voluntarily give up 30% of their basic pay for one complete year w.e.f. April 2020. Also, all the staff and officers have willingly contributed a day’s salary to the PM CARES( PM’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation) fund.
