Amitabh Bachchan shared a throwback picture attending late Rishi Kapoor’s Baraat with a ‘bandaged hand’

Amitabh Bachchan shared a memory from past of late actor Rishi Kapoor’s wedding celebration. A few days back the actor Rishi Kapoor died at a Mumbai hospital after suffering from two years and fighting a battle from leukaemia. A few hours ago a blog was shared by Amitabh Bachchan celebrates 37 years of his film Mahaan. In the blog, he talked about attending Rishi’s baarat with a bandaged hand as he suffered from a dangerous injury on the sets in Chennai.

While playing a role Amitabh had to slide down the rope in a song when the shooting was going on he went through the serious injuries. The poster of Mahaan features Amitabh Bachchan sliding through the rope, Amitabh stated “never realised that the rope friction is the worst burn ever… the shot happened .. sliding down I knew I was damaging my hand but what the heck the show must go on.. shot over the hand lacerate to bits” while the shooting of Mahaan was going on suffered from injuries.

Just after the injury, he rushed the hospital where he was “drugged, treated, stitched up and bandaged” And then soon after the left for Mumbai in order to attend Rishi and Neetu’s wedding function at Burmah shell complex which is in Chembur. Few pictures were shared by the actor in the picture he was seen in a suit and the customary pink turban on his head and a bandage in his hand. In one picture we can see Shammi Kapoor besides him.

With a motive to resume the shoot Amitabh Bachchan returned to Chennai the next day itself. However, those injuries never got time to heal he was again injured on Diwali while lighting firecrackers. He shared how he hid his injured hand in films, he wrote on his blog, “the art of camouflaging the injured hand become a routine exercise later too, when he blew up during Diwali, handling a bomb firecracker ….immediate films… Inquilab and Sharaabi.. handi in pocket mostly or on handkerchief wrapped around to express style.”
