Dhanush, who is making his Hollywood debut with The Gray Man by filmmakers Antony and Joe Russo, said he always wanted to try his hand in foreign films but never expected to work with the directors of Avengers: Endgame.
Dhanush is part of a cast of Netflix that includes celebrities like Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Reese-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Billy Bob Thornton and Wagner Maura.
The action-thriller film is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Mark Groene and revolves around Court Gentry (Gosling), an independent assassin and former CIA operative. Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former member of Gentry’s CIA team, follows Gentry who is being hunted around the world. Dhanush, who is known for critically acclaimed films like Aadukalam, Ranjana, Asuran and Karnan, has expressed his passion for working in The Gray Man.
It is too early to talk about this. I really enjoyed working on it. The film “Atrangi Re” told PTI. When asked if he would ever want to work on such a big project, the two-time National Award-winning actor said that he is interested in exploring new areas as a presenter.
“I’ve always wanted to explore new areas but I didn’t expect it to happen. It’s an interesting opportunity and it could open new doors for me.” He previously starred in the 2018 English-language film The Scott Extraordinary Journey of the Mystic, directed by Ken Scott. Dhanush said that as an actor he doesn’t do anything special and believes in going with the flow.He achieved a lot and he did a great job,” Dhanush said while re-shooting The Gray Man. Dhanush will be reuniting with Aanand L Roy in Atrangi Re after 2013 hit Ranjhanaa. The romantic drama also stars Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.
