Bollywood evergreen actor RISHI KAPOOR dies at the age of 67

Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away on Thursday in a hospital in Mumbai at the age of 67 combat with cancer. He was hospitalised at H.N.Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. He fought a long battle with cancer.

The actor was hospitalized at H.N.Reliance Foundation Hospital on Wednesday after he complained of ailing. Amitabh Bachchan confirmed the news of the actor’s death.
Kapoor was fighting with cancer from a long while and had spent almost a year in New York City in treatment. He returned to Mumbai in September 2019. He had been admitted to a hospital attributable to breathing problems a few days ago. After he returned back to the country, he tweeted, ” Back home! 11 months, 11 days! Thank you all”.

As per the statement issued by the family, “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukaemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last. He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him.”

Rishi Kapoor was hospitalised twice this year in February – first in New Delhi, where he was attending a family occasion, and then in Mumbai. After being admitted to hospital in Delhi, Mr Kapoor tweeted, “Dear family, friends, foes and followers. I have been overwhelmed by all your concern about my health. Thank you. I have been filming in Delhi past 18 days and because of the pollution and my, I caught an infection whereby I had to be hospitalized.” He also disclosed the patch on his lungs spotted that could have led to pneumonia.

Rishi Kapoor debuts his Bollywood career in 1973 with film Bobby. The film was the big hit on Box Office. He won the National Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in 1970 film Mera Naam Joker for playing the young version of his father Raj Kapoor in the film which was directed by his father only. He appeared with Amitabh Bachchan in Amar Akhbar Anthony. He was last seen in the 2019 films The Body and Jhootha Kahin Ka.
The sudden demise of the actor has left the Film fraternity in shock. Rishi Kapoor’s close friend and co-actor in Amar Akhbar Anthony Amitabh Bachchan tweeted “Rishi Kapoor… gone… passed away. I am destroyed !”

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “It appears as if we’re within the midst of a nightmare, having simply heard the disappointing information of Rishi Kapoor’s demise. This coronary heart is surprising. He was a legend, an ideal co-star and an excellent household buddy. My condolences and prayers are together with his household”.

Tapsee Pannu also expressed her grieve and tweeted, ” Been trying to write something n I can’t put my mind n hands in sync. More like the heart in between is just not able to comprehend this. That laugh, that sense of humour, the honesty and even the bully he was, will be missed. No one like you #RishiKapoor”.
