Gangs of Wasseypur 1 hits theatres on June 22 ,2012 . Huma expressed her joy of being a part of the film.
Actresses Huma Qureshi took to her Instagram handle to express her gratitude for the film Gangs of wasseypur, as it completed it’s 8 years of release. She posted a still of her with Late Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui of an iconic scene from the movie. Captioning the picture she wrote ” It has been 8 years since Gangs of Wasseypur 1 a film a scene that changed my life so yes, dreams do come true. And dreams come true despite all odds, personal insecurities, drawbacks or whatever you want to label you fear as.
She further added, in these dark & difficult time I’m glad I have these moments to look back at with my heart full gratitude for the universe I know you got my back . I know I know you I will be safe I know the best meant for me will happen . In you, I trust ,I surrender myself . I know you will take care of me & mine.” Huma played the role of Mohsin Hamid as Faizal’s wife , her heartfelt note on her instagram
handle shows her gratitude towards the movie.
As the movie name suggests itself, Gangs of wasseypur is a gang war drama centred on the coal mafia of Dhanbad. These are two-part Indian crime films directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap. The movie earned collectively approx 50 crores which easily recovered the
budget of movies that is 9.2 crore. Most characters are in the film from Uttarpradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand (wasseypur).
From story to music everything is an experiment in this movie. There is something in Anurag’s nature to bring something very expected on-screen which makes the audience curious on one side and uncomfortable on the other side.
Gangs of Wasseypur also happens to be the first Bollywood commercial film to feature at the Cannes film festival during the Director’s Fortnight segments at the festival in 2012.
Another lady from Gangs of wasseypur, Richa Chadha shared a funny meme inspired by her role in Gangs of wasseypur on the completion of 8 years of the movie.
