Shahrukh Khan and Kajol celebrates 25 years of their iconic movie DDLJ

It’s DDLJ day! Today, 25 years ago, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge was released and it stills feels like yesterday! This evergreen and all-time favourite movie of everyone still rules hearts to this day. The amazing lead actors – Shahrukh Khan and Kajol won hearts as Raj and Simran. The cast also included Farida Jalal, Amrish Puri, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri, Parmeet Sethi, Anaita Shroff Adjania and Mandira Bedi among many.

To mark this silver jubilee, both the lead actors changed their names on Twitter to their on-screen names. Shahrukh Khan changed his name on Twitter to Raj Malhotra and Kajol’s name to Simran. They also updated their profile pictures to their pictures from the movie.

A bronze statue of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol is set to be displayed at Leicester Square in London as a tribute to this evergreen classic.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge had won many prestigious awards including a national award and several Filmfare awards. It, still to this date, is the longest-running Indian film in theatres.
